About Troy Brook Visions Inc.
Troy Brook Visions is a custom fine art furniture studio founded in 1992 on the principles of hard work, honesty, and pride in our craftsmanship. Inspired by the Dakota proverb “we will be known forever by the tracks we leave”, we create heirlooms utilizing historically proven and ecologically-friendly woodworking techniques. Our pieces are meant to enrich your technologically burdened living environments with a connection to Mother Earth and are designed and built to last through generations. We create commissioned pieces for our clients here in the United States and internationally from our beautiful country barn in Litchfield, Connecticut.
Nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Berkshires, Litchfield is a popular weekend getaway known for its history, arts and culture. Our studio and gallery offer a one-of-a-kind experience for clients and tourists. While browsing the gallery, visitors can watch the artisans at work in the studio or consult with Daniel Gugnoni, our master designer and furniture maker, on creating a custom heirloom work of art. Each piece benefits from Gugnoni’s artistic vision, keen sense of proportion, years of study in the arts of furniture, and his master craftsmanship.
Daniel Gugnoni, Master Furniture Designer and Artisan
Gugnoni began his career after receiving a BFA in Sculpture. Turning his knowledge of design, proportion, and wood to functional pieces of art was a natural progression. He has been designing and creating custom pieces of fine furniture for twenty years and still feels a connection to each piece. His work has been recognized by many of the leading juried artisan shows in the country. Among his credentials are the American Craft Council, Paradise City Arts Festival, The American Craft Show Master Artisan Salon, Crafts American Westchester Craft Show, The Philadelphia Invitational Fine Furniture Show, and The Providence Fine Furniture Show.
His favorite woods include tiger maple and African ribbon-cut mahogany. In the past few years he has developed a procedure for showcasing these woods. By using the grain patterns to create interesting designs in the top of a piece of furniture, Gugnoni shows how wood can be used in its natural state to produce an amazing design.
When not crafting beautiful pieces of functional art furniture, Gugnoni turns his interest to guitar making and wooden boat building.
